Install PhanTerm

PhanTerm is a lightweight, out-of-the-box terminal application. It is packaged as a standalone binary and runs on major operating systems without complex dependencies.

Download the latest release for your operating system from the official channels. After downloading, extract the binary and place it in your system path (e.g., /usr/local/bin or an appropriate directory on Windows) to run it directly.

Version Update Mechanism

PhanTerm features an intelligent update mechanism to ensure you receive new features and security patches promptly:

1. Automatic Detection: The app automatically detects new versions in the background and notifies you when one is available.
2. Manual Update: When notified of a new version, run the update command in the terminal for a seamless self-update.
3. Manual Check: Run the update check command at any time to actively check for new versions.

Note

All update processes undergo strict security validation at the application layer, ensuring downloaded content is trusted and untampered. Your active SSH connections will not be interrupted during the update process.
